You read that right…Meatza.
I started making Meatza when pizza night no longer had a place in my life…cause pizza makes you chubby. It’s not the piles of toppings, the olive oil, or even the gooey cheese that’s the culprit though…it’s the crust. The Crust! Why haven’t they told us this all our lives?
That would have been really helpful to know.
Now that we know better, we do better and that’s where meatza comes in. It’s a pizza crust made entirely of ground meat and spices. The crust is not soggy, it’s not flimsy, rather it’s a little crispy on the bottom and can hold an obscene amount of toppings like they were going out of style. I know this because I’ve piled a lot of toppings on mine and it’s never failed me once.

I used Healthy Solutions Spice Blends Pork & Poultry Rub to flavor the meat crust which is made from ground chicken.
You cook the crust a little bit before you add the sauce and toppings, then bake it a little more to get it all stringy and gooey.
You guys know I’m nothing if I’m not flexible, so I need to let you know that you could use ground turkey, ground beef, or even ground pork in this crust…just use whatcha have in the fridge. Don’t be OCD and insist on driving to the store if you don’t need to. That’s one of the benefits of using these Healthy Solutions Spice Blends, you don’t just have to use them on the meat they were created for…you can go crazy and use them to season anything you want…even veggies!
My family really went for this recipe. It makes four good slices of pie, and I serve it alongside a green salad to round it out. It really is easier than making a conventional pizza and much better for the waistline.
