Hi, friends. It’s been a long few weeks. I have been up most nights to the wee hours of the morning working on HAVEYourselfatime.com.
My house is a bit of a mess, I am exhausted and behind on everything, but I have to say, I think the hard work paid off.
I’ve been working with a wonderful blog designer who has helped me take the site to a new level, and I’m really pleased with how it came out.
I’d like to share with you the reasons my blog was born, and why I think you might like to stop by and visit once in a while.
Those of you who know me best, know how much I have always loved to write. Words have always seemed to flow from my fingertips and they wash right up in the gutters of my mind even when I am not thinking about it. I have to let them out once in awhile or they’d drive me mad!
As I started a family, grew up, and found out who I really was, I discovered a love for all things domestic. I went from having to call my Mom for instructions on how to boil an egg, to teaching myself to cook a turkey, roast the heck out of a pork butt, and make an alfredo sauce that will make you want to die a thousand sweet deaths because it’s just that damn sinful-in a good way, that is.
My love for creativity in the kitchen soon extended to mixing cocktails-something I love now even more than cooking. I am known for my cocktails in my circle of friends and it’s not just because of my heavy pour-they really do taste great!
About six years ago I ventured into learning to make decorative cakes. This is something I am still learning, but even in my amateur state, it makes the children in my life feel happy and special, which is enough incentive for me to keep learning and creating.
When my first son Mason was born, I had a wonderful new reason to learn how to throw the ultimate birthday party and since then, I think of pretty much any excuse to throw a party. Any party you put me in charge of is as much for me as it is for the guest of honor, because it’s just fodder for my creative brain. I am such a glutton for a good time.
As my family has grown, we’ve had to get creative with the spaces in our home. I love a clean, healthy, modern home and my husband, my partner in everything, and I have worked really hard to remodel nearly every room in our home over the years. It is so special to me because most of what I look at everyday was built from my husband’s two hard-working hands. It’s a wonderful gift and one I hope to share with you on this blog.
As a family, we haven’t always put vacationing on the top of our priority list, but as Chad and I watched our babies grow so fast right in front of our eyes, and time that used to drag started to fly, we realized how precious these years are. We’ve ventured out and discovered new places, and it’s given our children perspective on how tiny the place that each of us occupy on this earth really is. I hope to share some of those experiences with you.
The things you see here on HAVEYourselfatime.com, are the things of my life. They are what I’d do anyway, whether I was a blogger or not. I am a terrible scrapbooker, so I thought this would be a nice way to capture the story of my family’s life. What you find here is all me, one hundred and two percent.
Because I am a mom, a sister, a daughter, a wife, and a friend, I think just maybe my ideas might be of some use to you. My experiences may translate to your life in one way or another. If they do, I hope you stop by from time to time and say hello. I’ll be here whether one person or 1,000 tune in each week.
If you like what you see, please follow me on FB, Twitter, and Pinterest. Please re-pin my photos, and please subscribe to the blog!
I would really appreciate your support. To those of you in my life who have been here all along, thanks for making my life the enjoyable experience it is to live. To new friends, I am excited for our paths to cross and to discover the things we might learn from each other.
I believe in living life to the fullest. May you always HAVE Yourself a Time!
