Before you rush over to Athens to plan your entire football spread, stick around for a play by play of how to make one my family’s most requested football apps, my Tailgate Turkey Tarts.

These savory treats will blindside you with flavor.  They are super-hearty and seem to please everybody from big burly guys, to fancy chicks, and even finicky kids.  There’s a little something for everybody in there, from the tender turkey, smoky bacon, crunchy pecans, and spicy jalapenos…oh, and don’t forget the cheese, that’s in there too.

This is all piled high in crispy Fillo Shells and makes for one out of bounds game day bite!

It’s a touchdown of a combination if I do say so myself.

What’s more, using Athens Mini Fillo Shells will improve your odds of having enough time to create a kicker of a meal without spending excessive time outs in the kitchen.  The no-prep, just remove and fill philosophy, will have you parked on couch well before kick off time.

The filling for this recipe is even better made ahead of time, so put it on your ready list and you’ll be prepped for Super Bowl success.
